Wildcats Fall 3-0 to Maine in America East Championship Game

ORONO, Maine – The No. 2 seed University of New Hampshire women's soccer team was defeated by No. 1 seed Maine, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Mahaney Diamond in the America East Championship final.
Redshirt junior captain Sally Rainey (West Lebanon, N.H.), the America East Goalkeeper of the Year, recorded two saves in the loss, while Maine's Grace Wilson made five stops.
Senior Megan Logue (Oak Hills, Calif.), junior Abbi Maier (Cincinnati, Ohio), and sophomore Elizabeth Finn (Scituate, Mass.) were named to the All-Championship Team.
The Wildcats, runner-up in both the America East regular season and tournament, conclude the season 12-5-1. The 'Cats, who had a quarterfinal round bye, defeated Binghamton, 3-1, to advance to the title game. The 12 wins by UNH tie the program record set in 1988.
Maines wins back-to-back America East Championship titles and earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
