
Hat Trick by Goncalves Leads Wildcats to 5-1 Win at UAlbany

UNH wins third straight
ALBANY, N.Y. – Graduate student Matthew Goncalves (Everett, Mass.) scored three goals as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated UAlbany, 5-1, on Saturday evening at Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium in America East action.
The Wildcats have won three straight and improve to 6-3-5 (3-1-1 AE), while the Great Danes fall to 4-11-1 (1-4-0 AE). UNH is tied with Vermont for first place in the America East standings with 10 points.
Senior forward Ibrahim Conde (Montreal, Quebec) and senior Luke Fagerson (Medway, Mass.) each posted a goal. Senior goalkeeper Erik Lauta (Aptos, Calif.) made one save in the win.

· The 'Cats return to action on Friday, Nov. 1 at America East opponent NJIT at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. The next home game is versus UMass Lowell in the regular season finale on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

· After UAlbany took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Zach Lind in the fifth minute (4:18), UNH tied the game in the 26th minute (25:08) when Conde scored on a penalty kick.
· Goncalves would then record a hat trick in just 12:24. His first goal was on a breakaway in the 51st minute (50:24) with assists by sophomore Austin Bush (Southampton, Mass.) and freshman Max Voigt (Oberkotzau, Germany).
