Former Temple Gymnast was All-ECAC First Team, School Record Holder on Bars
DURHAM, N.H. – UNH gymnastics head coach Lindsey Bruck Ayotte announced Thursday the hire of Jazmyn Estrella as assistant coach. Estrella, a decorated collegiate gymnast at Temple University in 2019 and 2020, served as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater for head coach Josh Nilson in 2023.
Estrella will join Bruck Ayotte's staff alongside associate head coach Steve Avgerinos in coaching all events in the gym in addition to assisting with choreography, recruiting and running the popular UNH Gymnastics Community Program.
"We are so excited to welcome Jazmyn to the UNH coaching staff," Bruck Ayotte said. "She brings great energy and a wealth of gymnastics knowledge. She fits well into our vision of helping young individuals learn and grow throughout their college years. She was a great college gymnast, and we are eager for her to help the next generations with her passion of the sport!"
A native of Allentown, Pa. Estrella is Temple's record holder on the uneven bars (9.95). Her individual accomplishments as a student-athlete included seven event titles, ECAC Gymnast of the Week, All-ECAC First Team (vault, bars) and ECAC All-Second Team (vault, balance beam). Estrella helped Temple win back-to-back ECAC Championships in her two seasons on the squad and was part of the school's best-ever beam team at the time.
Prior to Temple, Estrella spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons at Utah State, where she qualified for NCAA Regional on bars, vault, and floor and earned Mountain Rim Conference Specialist of the Week on multiple occasions.
