Guarente scores her second goal on the season and fourth career game winning goal.
DURHAM, N.H. –The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team defeated Manhattan College, 2-0 at Tucker Field Thursday afternoon. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Sally Rainey (Lebanon, N.H.) recorded her second career shutout in the win.
Junior midfielder Meghan Guarente (Sewell, N.J.) and sophomore midfielder Abbi Maier (Cincinnati, Ohio) each recorded a goal to bring the Wildcats' their second home win of the season.
The Wildcats' record improves to 2-1 (0-0 AE) and Manhattan's falls to 0-1 (0-0 MAAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the 19th minute, the Wildcats took the lead 1-0 as junior back Molly McHugh (Tyngsboro, Mass.) sent a long pass to Guarente who then fired a shot past Manhattan goalkeeper Margaret Brunk sticking it in the back right corner of the net.
- In the 50th minute, senior back Ella Dudley (St Augustine, Fla.) punted the ball in front of the goal where Maier then headed the ball into the back of the net making it 2-0 for the Wildcats.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Wildcats out shot the Jaspers, 9-4, while UNH took seven shots on goal and Manhattan had four.
- Brunk of Manhattan and Rainey both had four saves.
- UNH took six corner kicks while Manhattan took one.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Guarente's goal today was her fourth career game winning goal and second goal of the season.
