BURLINGTON, V.T. – Sophomore forward Abbi Maier (Cincinnati, Ohio) scored late for the Wildcats as the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team tied Vermont, 1-1 on Thursday evening from Virtue Field in Burlington.

Red shirt sophomore goalkeeper Sally Rainey (Lebanon, N.H.) made six saves for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats' record goes to 5-4-3 (2-1-2 AE) and Vermont's goes to 8-4-1 (2-2-1 AE).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Bailey Ayer gave the Catamounts a 1-0 lead in the 55^th minute (54:40) when she ripped a shot to the top right corner off a free kick right outside the box.
Maier tied the game in the 84^th minute (83:05) after freshman forward Greta Caulton (Amherst, N.H.) used her knee to place the ball right in front of Maier. She weaved around a defender and buried the ball to the bottom right corner of the net.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

The Catamounts out shot the Wildcats, 19-9, while UNH took five shots on goal and Vermont had seven.
Erin Murphy of Vermont had four saves while Rainey had six.
Both teams had one corner kick.
