Guarente, Bini Score in 2-1 Victory Over NJIT

NEWARK, N.J. – Junior forward Emily Bini (Guilderland, N.Y.) scored her first career goal and the game winner as the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team defeated the NJIT Highlanders on Sunday afternoon at Lubetkin Field.
Sophomore forward Meghan Guarente (Sewell, N.J.) scored her team leading fourth goal of the season in the match to aid in the win.
The Wildcats' record improves to 4-5-0 (1-1-0, America East) and the Highlanders' falls to 2-4-5 (0-1-1, America East).

FIRST HALF:
- Grad student goal keeper Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y.) made a fantastic save to keep the score knotted at nil in the 23rd minute off a shot from NJIT's Maria Nogueira.
SECOND HALF:
- Guarente knocked in her fourth of the season in the 48th minute. Guarente stormed the net, found the ball, and buried it.
- In the 51st minute, Bailey Chant tied the game at 1-1 when she fired the ball into the far-right corner of the net.
- Bini struck in the 87th minute to give the Wildcats a 2-1 lead over the Highlanders. Bini ripped the ball to the top right corner of the goal to secure the lead.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- UNH took three corner kicks compared to NJIT's six.
- The Wildcats outshot the Highlanders 8-4.
- Sheppard made two saves while Molly Saylor had eight.
