DURHAM, N.H. – Vivian Akyirem scored the only goal of the game to give the Northeastern Huskies the win over the University of New Hampshire Wildcats women's soccer team 1-0, at Wildcat Stadium on Friday night.
The Wildcats' record falls to 2-3-0 and the Huskies improve to 2-2-1.

FIRST HALF:
- Senior forward Whitney Wiley (Vienna, Va.) stole the ball from a Northeastern defender and was able to chip it over Northeastern goalkeeper Holland Stam. The ball rang the crossbar, but did not cross the goal line.
SECOND HALF:
- Akyirem scores the first goal of the game in the 47th minute off her left foot into the top left corner to give Northeastern the lead 1-0. Jessie Hunt and Nina Dooley both recorded an assist.
- Freshman back Maddie Kolb (Tolland, Conn.) rifled a shot outside the box that passed Stam but hit the post. Wiley picked up the rebound and quickly fired a shot, but it was saved by Stam.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Northeastern had the advantage with three corner kicks compared to the Wildcats' one.
- The Wildcats outshot the Huskies 15-5.
- Grad student goalkeeper Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y) had one save while Stam had six.
