Maier Scores Lone Goal in 2-1 Loss to UAlbany

DURHAM, N.H – Freshman midfielder Abbi Maier (Cincinnati, Ohio) scored her first collegiate goal Sunday afternoon as the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team fell to UAlbany at Wildcat Stadium.
The Wildcats' record falls to 3-5-0 overall. The Great Danes improve to 3-5-1 overall.

FIRST HALF:
- In the 32nd minute, UAlbany's Olivia Piraino scored the first goal of the game with an unassisted shot to the top left corner of the net.
SECOND HALF:
- Piraino scored her second goal of the game in the 55th minute as she buried the ball off a pass from Iola Cotter.
- Maier capitalized on her own rebound in the 83rd minute when she stuffed the ball into the net. Sophomore forward Meghan Guarente (Sewell, N.J.) and junior forward Emily Bini (Guilderland, N.Y.) both notched an assist on the goal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- New Hampshire finished with a 14-11 shot advantage that included 7-8 shots on goal.
- The Wildcats took three corner kicks compared to the Great Danes two.
- Grad student Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y.) and Megan Hart both made six saves.
