DURHAM, N.H – Kristina Kelly scored the game winning goal for the Blue Devils as the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team fell to Central Connecticut State, 1-0, at Wildcat Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Graduate student goalkeeper Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y.) made four saves in the contest.

The Wildcats' record falls to 2-2-0 overall while the Blue Devils' improves to 2-2-0 overall.

The 'Cats are back at Wildcat Stadium on Fri. Sept. 2 as they host Northeastern at 6 p.m.

FIRST HALF:

Central Connecticut State scored the only goal of the game in the 22^nd minute when Kelly lifted the ball into the top left corner of the net. Kelly Brady recorded an assist on the goal.

SECOND HALF:

In the 71^st minute, sophomore forward Meghan Guarente (Sewell, N.J.) had a dangerous scoring chance when she went for a bicycle kick, but the shot was successfully saved by CCSU goalie Caitlin Murphy.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

New Hampshire finished with a 20-10 shot advantage that included 8-5 shots on goal.
The home team recorded a 3-2 edge in corners.
CCSU was whistled for 12 fouls in comparison to six for the Wildcats.
The Blue Devils were issued a yellow card in the second half.
