Four Captains Named for 2022-23 Season

DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey head coach Hilary Witt has announced that senior goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island), senior forward Lauren Martin (Cambridge, Ontario), junior forward Annie Berry (Milton, Mass.), and sophomore defenseman Charli Kettyle (Perth, Ontario) will serve as team captains for the 2022-23 season. All four Wildcats will wear C's.
Boutilier started in 22 games last season, her second as a captain, and posted a 2.65 GAA with a .911 save percentage. She became the Wildcats' career saves leader on Feb. 15 and her benchmark currently stands at 2,907; on the UNH all-time leaderboard, Boutilier ranks third in save percentage (.925) and fourth in minutes (6299:18). The rising sixth-year was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in 2018 and the Hockey East All-Star Third Team in 2020. She is also a three-time AHCA All-America Scholar and four-time Hockey East All-Academic Team honoree.
Martin skated in all 34 of the team's games last season, her second as a captain. The senior posted four goals and six assists for 10 points and notched her 50th career point Jan. 2 at Dartmouth College. Martin also shared the team lead with two game-winning goals. She is a three-time recipient of the Hockey East All-Academic Team, an AHCA All-American Scholar, and a two-time member of the National College Athlete Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma.

Berry played in 32 games last season and recorded three goals and four assists for seven points. She scored one the Wildcats' two shorthanded goals with her tally at Providence College on Oct. 8. The Milton native was first among forwards in blocked shots with 40. Berry is a two-time Hockey East All-Academic Team recipient and was inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma, this past April.

Kettyle will serve as a captain in her junior season. She skated in all 34 games last season, in which she tallied two goals and six assists for eight points. The Perth native scored two game-winning goals in 2020-21, her freshman season. Kettyle is also a member of the Hockey East All-Academic Team and an AHCA All-American Scholar.
