'Cats Earn Fourth Place Finish at America East Championship on Saturday

KINGSVILLE, Md. -- The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team earned a fourth place finish at the America East Cross Country Championship hosted by UMBC on Saturday morning at Jerusalem Mill Park.
UNH earned a total of 117 total points in the 8k race.
"We are happy with the team finishing fourth," said UNH head coach Robert Hoppler. "We worked hard over the course of the season, we are excited about the fact that we have a young team with a bunch of freshman and sophomores that will continue to develop and we are very optimistic going forward."
Sophomore Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) was UNH's top finisher with a time of 25:02.6, which placed 16th among the field of 80 total runners.
Sophomore Brayden Kearns (Deerfield, N.H.) placed 18th with a time of 25:11.9, while freshman Samuel Hilts (Concord, N.H.) finished 24th in his first conference championship with a mark of 25:27.5. Sophomore Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine) notched a time of 25:34.4, which was the 27th best time among the field.
