PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior Alyssa Worthington (West Warwick, R.I.) scored a career-high 9.925 to secure first place on balance beam, and the UNH gymnastics team totaled a 193.625 to place fourth in the Rutgers quad meet Saturday at Jersey Mike's Arena.
North Carolina State took first place with a 195.125, followed by Rutgers (194.550) and North Carolina (194.225).
"We improved on some things from last weekend," head coach Lindsey Bruck Ayotte said. "Floor and vault had great energy. It's still early in the season. We are looking forward to a full week of practice and continuing to work on the details we need."

HOW IT HAPPENED
Worthington's beam excellence spearheaded UNH's first rotation on beam. Senior Hailey Lui (Collegeville, Pa.) scored a 9.800 and senior Hannah Baddick (Gettysburg, Pa.) added a 9.750.
Freshman Gracy Mowers (Middleton, Mass.) powered the floor lineup with a personal-best 9.850 to earn a share of third place. Worthington notched a second straight career-high mark with a 9.750, which tied junior Kenadi Brown (Las Vegas, Nev.) for 11th place.
Junior Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) led the vault unit with a 9.875 for second place, while Mowers hit for a 9.800 to share eighth place.
Gorgenyi paced the 'Cats on uneven bars with a 9.800 to finish tied for fourth. Sophomore Gia Graver (East Northport, N.Y.) added a 9.725 (10th), and graduate student Kylie Kratchwell (Sewell, N.J.) posted a 9.700 (T-11th).
