Caron Repeats as America East Offensive Player of the Week

BOSTON -- Junior forward Finn Caron (Hampton, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire field hockey team was named the repeat recipient of the Offensive Player of the Week by America East on Tuesday. She also received that honor March 2.

Caron matched her career highs of three goals and six points to propel UNH to a 6-0 victory against Merrimack College at Memorial Field on March 3. She scored three goals on just three shots.

Caron's first goal gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead at 9:39 when she redirected a centering pass into the cage from the middle of the circle. She scored unassisted goals 2 minutes, 16 seconds apart in the second quarter -- at 17:08 and 19:24 -- to extend the advantage to 5-0.

In two games this season, Caron has four goals on five shots with one game-winning tally. She is the America East leader in goals and goals per game (2.00) as well as points (eight) and points per game (4.00).

Caron has been named America East Offensive Player of the Week three times in her career.

New Hampshire (2-0) is scheduled to play two games this weekend: March 12 (2 p.m.) at Boston College and March 14 (1 p.m.) at home vs. Northeastern University.
