Wildcats compete in intra-squad meet, followed by youth clinic
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire gymnastics team will compete at Lundholm Gym in front of fans for the first time in 672 days when it plays host to the Meet the Team exhibition Saturday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m.
The Wildcats have divided their rosters into Team Blue and Team White to create a meet-day atmosphere for an intra-squad competition with pride on the line.
UNH head coach Lindsey Bruck Ayotte and associate head coach Steve Avgerinos will coach Team White.
"I love our Wildcat team and nothing can come between us 364 days a year," Bruck Ayotte said. "But Saturday? Saturday I'm all about Team White, and we are going to win."
Team Blue will be coached by assistant coach Amanda Fillard and volunteer assistant coach Ed Datti.
"Lindsey and Steve are terrific coaches and colleagues, but let me go on the record saying unequivocally that Team Blue will be celebrating a Meet the Team victory on Saturday," Fillard fired back.
Student assistant coach Olivia Queri will lend her expertise to each team.
"Choose sides? Nope, not going to do it," Queri said. "I am here for everyone."
Celebrity judges from Wildcat Country will determine scoring with each team competing four events in a dual-meet format.
