Wildcats earn this honor for the fourth straight year.
NCAA RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS – The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team has earned NCAA Public Recognition for posting a multi-year Academic Progress Rate score in the top 10 percent of their sport. The NCAA made the announcement Tuesday as part of its Academic Performance Program. The most recent APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.
The men's cross country team has now earned this accolade for the fourth straight season.
Each year, the NCAA honors selected NCAA Division I sports teams by publicly recognizing their latest multiyear NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate. This announcement is part of the overall Division I academic reform effort and is intended to highlight teams that demonstrate a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving the top APRs within their respective sports. Specifically, these teams posted multiyear APRs in the top 10 percent of all squads in each sport.
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
Multiyear APRs for all Division I sports teams will be announced May 19.
