Six alpine, four Nordic racers to compete at Montana State
INDIANAPOLIS – Ten members of the University of New Hampshire ski team will represent the Wildcats at the 2020 National Collegiate Men's and Women's Skiing Championships on March 11-14 at Bridger Bowl and Crosscut Mountain Sports Center in Bozeman, Mont.
UNH women's alpine captain Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) will compete in NCAAs for the third time in her career (2017, '19-20). The EISA All-East Second Team skier is a two-time All-American (2019 giant slalom, slalom) who was EISA's No. 1 points-earner in slalom this season. Lisa Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden), a 2019 NCAA All-American Second Teamer (GS), makes it back-to-back championship berths. Fanny Sanderberg (Oslo, Norway) is a first-time NCAA alpine qualifier.

On the men's side, All-East Second Teamer and 2019 All-American Second Team racer Patrick Kenney (Hingham, Mass.) joins team captain Will Bruneau-Bouchard (Quebec City, Quebec) as NCAA Championship returners for head coach Brian Blank. Crowley Gentile (Greenland, N.H.) will make his first career NCAA appearance while Corey McConville (London, Ontario) qualified but will not compete due to a three-skier-per-team maximum.
"On the first day of practice in September, we set the goal of bringing six alpine skiers to NCAA Championships," Blank said. "We've achieved that goal. Now we need to go to Montana and perform like we have all year."
Nordic head coach Cory Schwartz will send four skiers to NCAAs, each of whom is making their first career appearance. Men's skiers Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.), Anders Sonnesyn (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Will Bodewes (Durango, Colo.) join Lucinda Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) of the women's team headed to Crosscut Mountain.
"We are excited to have 10 student-athletes competing next week at the NCAA Ski Championships," Schwartz said. "Every class is represented, so we have a good combination of young and experienced students racing. Our goal, as a team, is to place in the Top-10 while also representing the school, alumni and the state with pride."
