Wildcats face off against top programs in Boston.
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team heads to the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown hosted by Boston College this Friday, September 20. The Wildcats are coming off a big win against Maine in the annual dual meet with a perfect team score of 15 last weekend.
MEET DETAILS:
Date: Friday, September 20 – 3:30 PM
Location: Franklin Park - Jamaica Plain, Mass.
Distance: 8K
The Wildcats plan to bring the full squad mixed between the varsity and sub-varsity races. The Wildcats will be led by their two top finishers from their first two meets, senior Nicolas Sevilla-Connelly (Chester, N.H.) and defending America East Performer of the Week, freshman Forest MacKenzie (Deerfield, N.H.).
Other key performers this season for UNH have been juniors Aidan Sullivan (Nashua, N.H.), James Wilkes (Concord, N.H.), and senior Samuel Lanternier (Derry, N.H.).
New Hampshire heads to the Coast to Coast Invitational to take on some of the top cross country programs in the nation. The Wildcats will look to get some big meet experience close to home.
"It's a strong field with some nationally ranked teams," says head coach Jim Boulanger. "We're gonna see if we can put ourselves in the front third of the race, and gain some more experience in big meets."
