Lui Named EAGL co-Specialist of Week

Freshman scored career-high 9.925 on balance beam at GWU
BALTIMORE – Hailey Lui (Collegeville, Pa.), a freshman on the University of New Hampshire gymnastics team, has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) co-Specialist of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
It is the first career EAGL weekly honor for Lui, who set a personal-best score on balance beam (9.925) for her first-ever event victory Friday, Feb. 8, in a quad meet at George Washington University that included Yale and William & Mary.
Lui recorded a 9.750 on uneven bars (T-9th) and a 9.775 on floor exercise (T-8th) to register her highest combined score (29.450) as a collegian. She was the lone Wildcat to achieve a 9.750 or higher on three events.
Lui is the fourth different Wildcat to earn EAGL Specialist of the Week honors this season. She shares this week's award with Khazia Hislop of North Carolina.

With seven victories against its last eight opponents, the Wildcats (8-2, 2-1 EAGL) venture to the Golden State for a pair of meets this weekend. On Friday, Feb. 15, UNH visits San Jose State for a tri-meet that also includes Sacramento State in the SJSU Events Center (10 p.m. ET). On Sunday, UNH challenges UC Davis (Davis, Calif.) at the Pavilion in a dual meet (4 p.m. ET).
