Nordic team freshman among 16 Americans selected for camp Oct. 7-13 in Park City, Utah
PARK CITY, Utah – Lucinda Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.), a freshman student-athlete on the UNH women's Nordic ski team, has been selected to represent the U.S. Ski Team at the Regional Elite Group Camp scheduled for Oct. 7-13 in Park City, Utah.
Anderson is one of 16 skiers tabbed to take part in the camp run by U.S. Development Coach Bryan Fish. As one of four junior racers, Anderson will also be able to train with member of the U.S. National Team.
"This is an amazing opportunity for Luci to train with many of the best skiers in the country under the watch of national development coach Bryan Fish," said UNH Nordic ski head coach Cory Schwartz. "The valuable experience she'll gain will help her build momentum in her first season as a Wildcat."
Prior to coming to UNH, Anderson earned Minnesota All-State and All-Conference accolades all four years at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School. In 2019, she was an individual and team champion and was the individual state runner-up for a state championship-winning team. Competing for Loppet Nordic Racing, Anderson qualified for Midwest Junior National Team and was the Junior National individual champion in the 5K skate. She also qualified for Midwest Juniors in 2017 and 2018 and traveled to the U18 Scandinavian Cup with the U.S. National Team in 2017.
The UNH ski team will be led by two-time All-American Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) and returning All-Americans Patrick Kenney (Hingham, Mass.) and Lisa Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) when it opens the 2020 EISA season at the Harvard Carnival on Jan. 17-18.
