Erin Carroll Named EAGL Specialist of Week

BALTIMORE – Erin Carroll (Kingston, N.H.), a senior for the University of New Hampshire gymnastics team, has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
It is the first career EAGL weekly honor for Carroll, who set a personal-best vault score with a first-place 9.900 on Monday, Jan. 8, at Southern Utah before following up with a 9.825 in taking first place on vault Sunday, Jan. 13, against Iowa at Lundholm Gym.

Carroll is EAGL's No. 1-ranked vaulter with an average score of 9.862.
In 21 career competitions between 2016-18, Carroll achieved a vault score of 9.825 once (03/04/16). In her first two chances this season, the native of Kingston, N.H., topped and equaled her previous career benchmark.

•UNH plays host to a quad meet, presented by Happy Bodies, this Friday, Jan. 18, starting at 7 p.m. in the Whittemore Center. The Wildcats challenge EAGL rival and first-place Pittsburgh, Temple and Bridgeport in the Raising the Bar meet.
•The 'Cats aim to break their all-time regular-season attendance record, which is 1,856. That mark was established March 20, 1999, in a dual meet against Utah at the Whitt.
•Fans who bring their ticket from the Jan. 13 meet will receive a special ticket rate of $5 this Friday night.
•It is also Pajama Night, with all fans encouraged to wear their PJs to the meet.
