UNH OPENS AMERICA EAST PLAY VERSUS UMBC ON ESPN3:

The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team (5-1-1), which is 5-0-1 over its last six games, returns to action Saturday, Sept. 22, when it takes on UMBC (4-2-1) at 7:00 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium. This is the America East season opener for both teams. The game will be on ESPN3 with Brendan Glasheen and Pete Webster on the call. This will be the 20th all-time meeting between the two teams as the Retrievers lead the series 8-5-6. Last year, UMBC won by a 1-0 score on Sept. 30.
THE MATCHUP:

UNH is 5-1-1 this season, while UMBC is 4-2-1. UNH nets 1.43 goals per game and allows 0.71, while the Retrievers score 1.57 goals per contest and allow 1.14. The Wildcats have outshot their opponents by a 112-57 margin, while UMBC has outshot its opponents, 83-80.
COLACCI LEADING UNH:

Junior Antonio Colacci (Bradenton, Fla.) leads the team with three goals and two assists for eight points. He scored both goals versus Northeastern including his first career game winner. For his career he has four goals and six assists for 14 points.
BAUER NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Sophomore Josh Bauer (Bedford, N.H.) was named the America East Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last week as the Wildcats went 1-0-1 against Iona (Oct. 12) and Dartmouth (Oct. 15). This is his second career America East Weekly Award, with his first being when he earned America East Rookie of the Week accolades (Oct. 9, 2017).
In the 70th minute against Iona, Bauer finished with a back heel flick into the left portion of the net leading the Wildcats to a 3-1 victory. Bauer was also a key member of the defense during those two games, which only allowed one goal including the 0-0 tie at Dartmouth. Bauer now has three goals and four assists for 10 points during his time as a Wildcat. As a freshman, Bauer started in all 22 games and recorded two goals and three assists.
UNDEFEATED AT WILDCAT STADIUM:
The Wildcats are 4-0-0 this season at home and are 14-0-3 at Wildcat Stadium over the last 17 games. UNH has outscored its opponents at home by a 32-8 margin over this span. Last year, UNH went 10-0-3 at Wildcat Stadium. UNH was just one of nine teams out of 205 to go undefeated at home.
