Ski Team Places Fourth at Dartmouth Carnival

Woodhouse headlines ‘Cats lineup with 10th-place finish in women’s SL
HANOVER & LYME, N.H. – Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) raced to a 10th-place finish in the women's slalom at Dartmouth Skiway on Saturday, and the University of New Hampshire ski team finished in fourth place at the Dartmouth Carnival, which included Nordic racing at Dartmouth XC Ski Center.
Peter Holmes (Tahoe City, Calif.), who won the 10K classic on Friday, was the top Wildcat men's Nordic skier again with a 14th-place finish in the men's 10K freestyle skate.
UNH scored 599 points to finish behind Dartmouth (1,019), Vermont (920) and Middlebury (699).

•The same trio of UNH women's alpine races earned points in both weekend races. Geneviève Frigon (Laval, Quebec) registered the fastest first-run time (54.66) among Wildcats but placed 23rd overall, just 0.04 behind Virkkula.
•All six alpine point-earners are foreign born, with the men's team representing three Canadian provinces (British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec).
What's Next
•The UNH ski team travels to the Williams Carnival on Feb. 16-17 for the penultimate carnival of the EISA season. Alpine races will take place at Jiminy Peak, with giant slalom scheduled for Feb. 16 and slalom the next day. Nordic action is slated for Prospect Mountain with the women's 5K classic and men's 10K classic (Feb. 16) and the freestyle sprint races (Feb. 17).
