WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior quarterback Trevor Knight (Amherst, N.H.) passed for 310 yards and a career-high three touchdowns but the No. 9 University of New Hampshire football team was defeated 51-26 by College of the Holy Cross at Fitton Field on Saturday afternoon.

Knight completed 26 of 45 passes with 3- and 6-yard TD passes to Neil O'Connor (Leominster, Mass.) and a 9-yard score to Rory Donovan (Canton, Mass.). Donovan finished with career highs in both receptions (11) and receiving yards (109). O'Connor had seven catches for 92 yards.

Redshirt freshman running back DeUnte Chatman (Houston, Texas), who entered the game in the fourth quarter, was UNH's top ground gainer with six carries for 107 yards, including a 64-yard TD.

Junior defensive end Jae'Wuan Horton (Stafford, Va.) recorded a career-high nine tackles, including two sacks, and sophomore linebacker Quinlen Dean (Greenbelt, Md.) also made a team-high nine stops to match his personal best.

Holy Cross' offense was led by Peter Pujals, who complete 21 of 39 passes for 367 yards and five TDs. Martin Dorsey was the top target with five catches for 165 yards and two TDs.

1^st QUARTER

New Hampshire outscored the hosts 7-3 in the opening 15 minutes.
The Wildcats took a 7-0 lead on a six-play, 89-yard drive that was capped by a six-yard TD pass from Knight to O'Connor at 9:03.
On the scoring drive, Gray accounted for 54 yards on just two touches. On 1^st-an-10 from the UNH 11, his career-long 36-yard reception advanced the ball near midfield. Gray's 18-yard scamper set up 1^st-and-goal at the HC 6.
A.J. Wells kicked a 46-yard field goal attempt between the uprights to lift the Crusaders within 7-3 with 43 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

2^nd QUARTER

Holy Cross shut out UNH in the second quarter to take a 16-7 lead into halftime.
The Crusaders took a 10-7 lead they would not relinquish at 11:21 of the second quarter on Pujals' 14-yard throw to Martin Dorsey.
Wells connected on field goal attempts of 29 yards (at 8:26) and 37 yards (1:37) to extend the advantage to 16-7.

3^rd QUARTER

The Crusaders scored three TDs in almost as many minutes to build a 37-13 lead. Andre Harton scored on a 20-yard reverse – Pujals three a key block – to give the home team a 23-7 lead at 9:38.
UNH fumbled the kickoff return and HC scored on the next play, a six-yard pass from Pujals to Derek Mountain, to quickly push the margin to 30-7.
The Wildcats responded with a 6-play, 75-yard TD drive in which Knight connected with O'Connor for the second time in the game, this time from three yards out at 6:41 of the third quarter.
Holy Cross returned the ensuing kickoff to the UNH 15 and scored on the next play from scrimmage, Pujals to Blaise Bell, at 6:21.
The Wildcats closed within 37-19 on Knight's third touchdown pass of the game, a nine-yard completion to Donovan with 22 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

4^th QUARTER

The Crusaders made it 44-19 on a 32-yard pass play from Pujals to Jordan Montomery at 13:01 and struck again at 6:43 on an 86-yard TD from Pujals to Dorsey.
Chatman's career-long run of 64 yards closed the scoring at 6:21.
