RALEIGH, N.C. – With a berth in the upcoming NCAA Regional Championships already solidified, the University of New Hampshire gymnastics team sets its sights on the 2017 East Atlantic Gymnastics League Championship, which is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, at 2 p.m. (ESPN3) at North Carolina State University's Reynolds Coliseum.
The 27th-ranked Wildcats (17-5, 2-2 EAGL), who finished as league runners-up each of the last two seasons after winning the 2014 EAGL title, match up against No. 18 George Washington, defending champion Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Towson and host N.C. State.

With its No. 27 national ranking and a 195.745 Regional Qualifying Score (RQS), UNH is assured of a trip to the NCAA Regional Championships regardless of its placement at Saturday's EAGL Championship. Head Coach Gail Goodspeed, who earned her 600th victory at UNH on Feb. 19, will guide the 'Cats into postseason competition for the 36th time in her 38 seasons at the helm and for the 34th time in the 36 seasons the NCAA has sponsored the championships. NCAA Regionals feature the Top 36 teams in the nation divided into six teams competing at six regional sites Saturday, April 1. Regional sites are the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville), University of Florida (Gainesville), University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), University of Nebraska (Lincoln), University of Washington (Seattle) and West Virginia University (Morgantown). The NCAA Selection Show is slated for Monday, March 20, at 4 p.m. exclusively on NCAA.com.
MEET NOTES
•The Wildcats are 2-2 against EAGL opponents this season, with wins against Pitt (195.425-191.675/Jan. 21) and Towson (196.075-194.950/Feb. 5) and losses against George Washington (196.400-196.075/Feb. 5) and North Carolina (195.875-195.075/Feb. 17). The lone EAGL team UNH has yet to face this season is the host school, N.C. State.
•New Hampshire last competed at Reynolds Coliseum on March 16, 2014. Then freshman Meghan Pflieger tied for second place in all-around (39.150) to help the Wildcats edge the Wolfpack, 195.600-195.550, in the regular-season finale. The 'Cats would capture the EAGL Championship six days later at the Whittemore Center in Durham.
•UNH previously won the EAGL Championship in 2003, also at the Whittemore Center.
•The Wildcats boast EAGL's No. 1-ranked bar competitor (Danielle Mulligan, 9.895 RQS) and No.2-ranked beam competitor (Casey Lauter, 9.870 RQS).
•UNH will open the EAGL Championship on floor exercise, followed by vault, a third-rotation bye, uneven bars, balance beam and a sixth-rotation bye.
