Gymnastics Posts Season-High 196.075 in Second Place Finish at George Washington Quad-Meet

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Danielle Mulligan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) won on the uneven bars for the third consecutive week, and also earned a share of third place on the balance beam, in the University of New Hampshire Gymnastics team's second place finish in Sunday's quad-meet at George Washington with Towson and Ball State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
New Hampshire began on the bars, where Mulligan dominated for the third straight week. The sophomore again earned a victory in the event, as she tied her season-high of 9.900. Co-captain Jennifer King (Freehold, N.J.) followed with a 9.775 and finishing with a share of tenth place. The 'Cats totaled a 48.625 on the bars, which was the team's third-best score of the season in the event.
On the balance beam, a trio of Wildcat gymnasts led the way and shared third place. Mulligan, Doolin, and Casey Lauter (Northport, N.Y.) each recorded a 9.850. The score was a new personal best for Doolin, while Mulligan was making her first career appearance on beam. As a team, UNH outscored the three other schools with a season-high 49.175 in the event.
On the floor, New Hampshire had three competitors lead the way once again. This time, it was Breeden, Capozzi, and Pflieger who earned top marks for the 'Cats. Each scored a season-high 9.850 and achieved a share of fourth place. The team was second only to George Washington in the event, as they recorded a season-high 49.125.
To close the meet, O'Leary notched a personal-best 9.875 on the vault to grab a share of second place. Pflieger recorded a season-high 9.850 en route to a fourth place finish, and Elizabeth Mahoney (Hanson, Mass.) totaled a 9.825 to tie for sixth. The Wildcats defeated the three other teams in this event as well, achieving a season-high team score of 49.150.
TEAM NOTES
Following Sunday's meet, UNH will head to Bowling Green State in Ohio (Feb. 11, 2:30 p.m.), and then challenge EAGL rival North Carolina on (Feb. 17, 7 p.m.).
