- The No. 20 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team continues its quest for the program's first-ever America East Tournament championship when it hits the road to take on UMass Lowell in the semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for youth and $2 for America East students (with valid school ID). The game will be shown on AmericaEast.tv.
- The Wildcats are the No. 3 seed in the tournament, while the River Hawks are the No. 2 seed. This is UMass Lowell's first America East Tournament appearance in program history.
- The winner will take on either No. 1 seed Vermont or No. 4 seed Albany in the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 12. The highest remaining seed will host the game.
- UMass Lowell won this year's regular season game with a 1-0 victory in overtime at Cushing Field on Oct. 28 with a goal by Ivan Blaskic.
- UNH is ranked No. 17 in the NCAA Men's Soccer RPI, while the River Hawks are No. 47.
- The Wildcats are 3-2-1 on the road this season, while the River Hawks are 6-0-1 at home.
- The Wildcats earned a spot in the semifinal with a 1-0 victory versus Stony Brook in the quarterfinals on Nov. 4 at Wildcat Stadium. Freshman Jacob Gould (Exeter, N.H.) scored the game winner in the 71st minute.
- The last time the Wildcats made an appearance in the semifinals was 2013. The last time UNH advanced to the championship game was 2012 when the Wildcats defeated Vermont on the road, 1-0.
- This will be UNH's 13th all-time appearance in the semifinals. The Wildcats have advanced to the championship game four times (1993, 1994, 2010, 2012). The tournament started in 1989.
- UNH is fourth in the nation with a 0.47 team goals against average as the Wildcats have only allowed nine goals all season and have posted 10 shutouts.
- UNH has outscored its opponents 27-9 this season.
- UNH's winning percentage of .778 is 10th in the country.
- The Wildcats are 3-2-0 all-time versus UMass Lowell.
- Graduate student Andrew Pesci (Windham, N.H.) is ranked third in the nation with 10 shutouts, while his 0.47 goals against average is fifth.
- Graduate student Robin Schmidt (Cologne, Germany) is second in America East with .50 goals per game, while he is third with 1.08 points per game.
WILDCATS EARN ALL-LEAGUE ACCOLADES
- Graduate student Robin Schmidt (Cologne, Germany) has been named the America East Men's Soccer Striker of the Year, while UNH also won the Coaching Staff of the Year award.
- Schmidt, freshman Linus Fallberg (Jonkoping, Sweden) and junior Otto Sahlen (Gothenburg, Sweden) earned All-America East first team accolades, while graduate student Willis Griffith (Amherst, N.H.) was named to the second team. Red-shirt freshman Josh Bauer (Bedford, N.H.) and Fallberg received All-Rookie team honors. Junior Chris Arling (Windham, N.H.) earned a spot on the All-Academic team.
