THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The No. 20 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team starts its quest for the program's first-ever America East Tournament championship when it hosts Stony Brook on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth/seniors. UNH students can pick up tickets the day of the game with their student IDs. Go here to buy tickets or call 603-862-4000.
- The Wildcats are the No. 3 seed in the tournament, while the Seawolves are the No. 6 seed. The winner will play at No. 2 seed UMass Lowell on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7:00 p.m.
- UNH won this year's regular season game with a 2-0 victory over Stony Brook on Oct. 21 at Wildcat Stadium. Graduate student Robin Schmidt netted two goals to lead the Wildcats, while graduate student Andrew Pesci made two saves to post his ninth shutout of the season.
- UNH is ranked No. 23 in the NCAA Men's Soccer RPI and No. 20 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Poll.
- UNH is fifth in the nation with a 0.495 team goals against average as the Wildcats have only allowed nine goals all season.
- UNH has outscored its opponents 26-9 this season.
- UNH's win loss percentage of .765 is 13th in the country.
- The Wildcats are 7-6-5 all-time versus Stony Brook.
- UNH is undefeated at Wildcat Stadium this year with an 8-0-3 record.
WILDCATS EARN ALL-LEAGUE ACCOLADES
- Schmidt has been named the America East Men's Soccer Striker of the Year, while UNH also won the Coaching Staff of the Year award.
- Schmidt, freshman Linus Fallberg and junior Otto Sahlen earned All-America East first team accolades, while graduate student Willis Griffith was named to the second team. Red-shirt freshman Josh Bauer and Fallberg received All-Rookie team honors. Junior Chris Arling earned a spot on the All-Academic team.
