Gymnastics Places Third in Texas Woman's Quad-Meet with Louisiana State and Oregon State

DENTON, TEXAS – Jennifer King (Freehold, N.J.) recorded the top score for the Wildcats on uneven bars (9.800) in in the University of New Hampshire's gymnastics team's third place finish in Saturday's quad-meet at Texas Woman's University with Louisiana State University and Oregon State University.
The Wildcats move to 12-9 overall, while the Tigers rise to 13-2, the Beavers go to 10-3, and the Pioneers fall to 8-16 on the season.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Courtney Bondanza (Buffalo, N.Y.) set a career high on balance beam and earned a share of fifth place as she scored a 9.825.
- Nicole O'Leary (Newtown, Conn.) tied her personal best mark on vault, with a 9.800 performance and a share of ninth place.
- Danielle Doolin (Medford Lakes, N.J.) tied her career high of 9.825 on beam, which gave her a share of fifth place. The freshman also earned third place in the all-around competition with a 38.375.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wildcats started out on the floor exercise, where Doolin recorded the team's top score (9.750) and tied for 13th place. Jessica Gracia (Bahama, N.C.) finished closely behind in 15th place with a 9.700. The team totaled a 48.275 in the event.
New Hampshire then went to the vault, where O'Leary tied her career high of 9.800 and finished with the team's top mark. The freshman also earned a share of ninth place for her performance. Erin Carroll (Kingston, N.H.) was not far behind, as she scored a 9.775 and finished in 12th place. As a team, UNH totaled a 48.700 on vault.
The 'Cats next performed on bars in the third event of the night. King finished with a team-high 9.800 and a share of 13th place. It was the junior's third score of 9.800 or better on bars in the last four meets. Gracia also performed well, recording a 9.750 and finishing in 15th place. The team totaled a 48.025 on bars.
To close the meet, New Hampshire headed to the beam, where it would record its best team score of the night (48.800). Doolin and Bondanza led the way, each scoring a 9.825 and earning a share of fifth place. The mark set a new personal best for Bondanza, and tied a previous high for Doolin.
TEAM NOTES
- The Wildcats finished with a total score of 193.800, only 0.025 less than their total in last week's meet against Utah State and BYU.
- UNH was outscored by LSU and Oregon State in each event, but earned a better team score than Texas Woman's University on vault, beam, and floor.
- Three Wildcats either set or tied career highs during the meet (Bondanza - beam, O'Leary - vault, and Doolin - beam).
