Men's Hockey Falls Short at No. 9 Boston University, 3-2

DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team scored twice in the third period, but fell to No. 9 Boston University by a score of 3-2 Saturday night at Agganis Arena. Freshman Ara Nazarian (Boxford, Mass.) and sophomore Cameron Marks (North Vancouver, British Columbia) each scored for the Wildcats.

WHAT HAPPENED
The Terriers struck first at 5:51 of the first period on a power play goal by Matt Grzelcyk to go ahead 1-0. The play started when Charlie McAvoy played a pass to Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson in the UNH zone. Forsbacka Karlsson sent a pass to Grzelcyk who was waiting on the back door and put it away.
Boston University took a 2-0 lead at 13:03 of the first period as Danny O'Regan notched his fourth goal in two games. Matt Lane played a pass to Shane Switzer at the point. Switzer played a pass down low to O'Regan who was open for the one-time shot into the net.
With 6:17 left in the second period and on a power play, Boston University took a 3-0 lead on a goal by Bobo Carpenter. Carpenter got the puck off a save by UNH sophomore netminder Danny Trone and backhanded his shot to the top corner for the goal.
At the 3:16 mark of the third period, freshman Ara Nazarian (Boxford, Mass.) notched his seventh goal of the season to get the Wildcats on the board. The goal came after classmate Chris Miller (Windham, N.H.) fired a shot that BU netminder Connor LaCouvee saved, but Nazarian made a diving play to shoot the puck into the net.
Sophomore Cameron Marks (North Vancouver, British Columbia) brought the Wildcats to within one at 3-2 with his first goal of the season. Junior Matias Cleland (Longmont, Colo.) flung a pass up ice to sophomore Shane Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) in BU territory. Eiserman dropped a pass to Marks who ripped a wrister to the top corner of the net past LaCouvee.
