No. 18 Gymnastics Visits West Virginia For Dual-Meet (Jan. 17, 4 p.m.)

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The University of New Hampshire gymnastics team competes for the third time in nine days when it visits West Virginia University for a 4 p.m. dual-meet Sunday, Jan. 17 at 4 p.m.

MEET NOTES:
- UNH's 196.075 versus Yale on Thursday was highest team mark since posting a 196.150 in road victory at Centenary University on March 15, 2015.
- It was their highest home score since a 196.525 that defeated West Virginia (195.300), Towson and Brown on Feb. 8, 2015.
- The Wildcats competed in the NCAA Morgantown Regional at the WVU Coliseum last March 22. Casey Lauter (Northport, N.Y.) returned from a six-week injury absence to propel the Wildcats to their top balance beam score (49.300) of the season. Lauter hit for a 9.875.
- WVU (195.650) finished fifth in the Regional, while UNH took sixth (194.825).
- Danielle Mulligan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) has finished first on uneven bars in each of her first two college meets.
- Four freshmen are expected to be in lineup for third straight meet, including three on vault.
- UNH suffered through a 15-hour travel day for last season's regular-season meet at West Virginia (Feb. 22).
- At that meet, the 'Cats had their winning streak snapped at nine with a fourth-place finish (194.100) in quad-meet. WVU scored a 195.200 for second; Meghan Pflieger (Barneveld, N.Y.) won the all-around (38.925) for a sixth straight meet.
- Sunday's meet is the home opener for West Virginia. It comes as part of the Beauty and the Beast meet in which the UNH/WVU gymnastics meet will run simultaneously with the WVU/University of Oklahoma wrestling dual at the WVU Coliseum.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS: WVU tallied a 193.650 and finished in third place behind host and 16th-ranked Denver (195.375) and No. 24 Southern Utah (194.100) in its season opener at Hamilton Gymnasium on Jan. 9.
The Mountaineers finished second on vault (49.0) and third on uneven bars (48.525), beam (47.85) and floor (48.275).
Freshman Kirah Koshinski, the reigning Junior Olympics floor national champion, was solid in her Mountaineer career debut, winning vault with a 9.875 score and finishing third on beam (9.800) and floor (9.825). In just her third career all-around appearance, junior Alexa Goldberg finished in third place with a career-high 38.975 score.
LAST TIME OUT: (Jan. 14, 2016)- DURHAM, N.H. – Danielle Doolin set four personal-best scores and matched another career high to capture the all-around championship in the 18th-ranked University of New Hampshire gymnastics team's 196.075-189.700 victory over Yale University on Thursday night at Lundholm Gym.
The Wildcats swept the top three scores on all four events to improve to 2-1 on the season; Yale slipped to 0-1.
Doolin made the most of her first career meet at Lundholm. The freshman scored a 9.800 on vault to tie classmate Nicole O'Leary for third place. Doolin's 9.675 on bars (T-5th) equaled her career high on that apparatus. She added a 9.700 for sixth on balance beam before sharing the top mark (9.850) on floor exercise with senior co-captain Kelsey Aucoin. With a 39.025 all-around score, Doolin edged Casey Lauter (39.000) for the AA championship.
The 'Cats outscored the Bulldogs on vault (48.950-47.050), bars (48.025-48.400), beam (49.250-48.025) and floor (49.050-46.225).
Elizabeth Mahoney set the tone in the first rotation by totaling a career-high 9.875 on vault for first place. Meghan Pflieger registered a 9.850 for second place, followed by Doolin and O'Leary.
Danielle Mulligan took first place on bars for the second straight meet; the freshman scored a 9.875 to edge teammate Jennifer King (9.825). Jessica Gracia made it a clean sweep with a third-place score of 9.775.
UNH posted the top six beam scores in dominant fashion, which included five marks of 9.800 or above. Pflieger and Lauter shared the beam championship with matching scores of 9.875, while Aucoin compiled a 9.850 for third place. Lia Breeden and Catarina Broccoli shared fourth (9.825), with Broccoli equaling a personal best in the process.
New Hampshire finished with a flourish by recording the top six floor performances, headlined by Aucoin and Doolin. Lauter (9.825) finished third, followed by O'Leary (9.800), Breeden (9.725) and Cassy Izzo (Cranston, R.I.), who scored a career-high 9.700.
LAST MEETING: (Feb. 22, 2015) - MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Meghan Pflieger scored a 38.925 to win the all-around championship for the sixth straight meet, but UNH had its winning streak snapped at nine by virtue of Sunday's fourth-place showing in the Wendy M. Roach Invitational quad-meet at the WVU Coliseum.
The University of Maryland took the top score with a 195.350, followed by West Virginia (195.200), Rutgers University (194.825) and UNH (194.100), which slipped to 11-4 on the season.
Pflieger scored a 9.675 on uneven bars and balance beam, hit for a 9.800 on floor exercise and closed with a 9.775 on vault. Her floor and vault scores were the highest among Wildcat competitors.
