Seat Selection Priority Numbers to be Issued at Saturday’s Home Opener
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire department of athletics will launch a marketing campaign aimed at establishing a priority system for seat selection at the under-construction Wildcat Stadium for the 2016 season during Saturday's first home football game at Cowell Stadium against Central Connecticut State University (6 p.m.).
The campaign will enable fans to reserve season tickets in the state-of-the-art stadium. For a $25 deposit per seat, fans will receive a seat selection priority number in the order in which their reservation is made. The deposit is completely refundable and nonbinding.
A number of reservation stations will be located throughout Cowell Stadium during the CCSU game.
Details of season ticket packages, including amenities and privileges, will be announced this winter, at which time fans can select their ticket package preference.
A "Select A Seat" event in which fans will have the opportunity to pick their actual seat location in the new stadium will be announced at a later time.
Current season ticket holders for 2015 do not need to make a seat deposit at this time, as they will be given seat selection priority over the general public. The seat selection process for season ticket holders will be announced at a later date.
Athletics department officials are excited about rolling out the marketing campaign and beginning to show off their showcase of a stadium.
"This campaign is intended to bring awareness and create energy around our tremendous new stadium, which our fans can literally see rising before their eyes all season," said Jon Danos, UNH senior associate athletic director for external affairs. "We want to capture the attention of our fans in a fun and unique way."
In addition to being able to make their deposit and obtain a priority number for season tickets at Saturday's game, fans can secure a priority number HERE starting at game time. They can also mail seat reservation deposits to Whittemore Center Arena Box Office, 128 Main Street, Durham, N.H. 03824; priority numbers will be assigned accordingly.
Packed with eye-opening features and designed to enhance the overall fan experience, the stadium will offer comfortable indoor and outdoor club-level seating, rooftop patios for group outings featuring all-you-can-eat buffets, the largest high definition videoboard in New Hampshire, plus plentiful restrooms and concessions.
The stadium will usher in an exciting new era for a Wildcat football team that has been among the very best FCS programs in the nation for more than a decade. Sean McDonnell's team has qualified for the FCS playoffs 11 straight years, which is a longer steak than any other team in the country.
Reservation stations for 2016 season tickets will be set up at UNH's remaining home games this season as well, including the Homecoming game against Elon at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 3. The other Wildcat regular season home games are against Rhode Island on Oct. 31 at 1 p.m., against Richmond on Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. and against Maine on Nov. 21 at 1 p.m.
Saturday's game against Central Connecticut State is sold out to the general public.
