ALBANY, N.Y. – The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team fell to the University at Albany 4-2 in America East play Thursday evening from Bob Ford Field. The two goals for UNH all came in the second half.

The Wildcats slip to 4-7-0 on the year and stand at 1-1-0 in the AE while the Great Danes 4-7-2 in the conference.

Sophomore netminder Mimi Borkan (Medfield, Mass.) made two saves in 90 minutes of action. Albany's goalkeeper Alana Brennan garnered eight saves in the win.

The Great Danes jumped out to a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the game off the foot of Alexa Schneider as she blasted a 20-yard shot just over the reach of Borkan.

Albany's Leanne Miller posted the second goal of the game at 37:12 as her first shot hit the post and mustered the second shot into the back of the net.

Borkan came up with a great save from a header in front of the net just before the half to stop Albany from adding another goal.

At halftime, the Great Danes claimed a 2-0 edge. New Hampshire out shot Albany 9-6.

In the 46^th minute, Kristia Fritzpatric scored the third goal of the game for Albany as Vivian Vega was credited with the assist.

The Wildcats cut the lead 3-1 three minutes after Albany posted their third goal of the game as sophomore Abby Short (Stratham, N.H.) tallied her first goal of the season.

The Great Danes increased their lead 4-1 at the 52^nd minute as Vivian Vegan posted her seventh goal of the season. The Wildcats answered a goal of there own less than 10 minutes latter. At 61:52 freshman Brooke Murphy (Monson, Mass.) netted her sixth goal of the season from a breakaway to give UNH their second score of the game. Senior Caroline Murray (New Canaan, Conn.) paved the way for the assist her third of the season.

New Hampshire did what they could to get back into the game. Senior co-captains Meghan Ledwith (Yardley, Pa.) and Jenna Shaddock (Halifax, Nova Scotia) posted shots in the 83^rd and 85^th minute as Brennan made both saves.

UNH posted 22 shots (13 in the second half) while Albany took 14.

The Wildcats are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 5 as they travel to the University of Maine for conference action (1 pm).
