DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team fell to the University of Hartford in overtime by a score of 1-0 from Bremner Field on Sunday afternoon in conference play.

The Wildcats slip to 4-8-2 overall and 1-2-2 in America East action. The Hawks improve to 8-2-3 on the season and 4-0-0 in league play.

Sophomore golakeeper Mimi Borkan (Medfield, Mass.) made four saves in 97 minutes between the pipes for UNH. Hartford netminder Jessica Jurg made seven saves in the game.

The Hawks scored the game-winning goal 97:05 in the overtime as junior Kristen McAdams mustered a shot past Borkan off of a loose ball in the box to give the Hartford the win.

Hartford outshot UNH for the match, 18-17. The Hawks garnered five corner kicks while the 'Cats earned two.

Freshman Brooke Murphy (Monson, Mass.) and junior Kirsten O'Neil (Hampton, N.H.) paced the Wildcats with four shots each in the game. Senior co-captain Meghan Ledwith (Yardley, Pa.) and junior Gabrielle Sloan (Stow, Mass.) posted three shots apiece in the match. Murphy currently leads the team with 45 shots on the season, 25 of those on target.

UNH opened the game with the first four shots of the game against the Hawks. Murphy posted the first one as it went wide of the net just a minute into the game.

New Hampshire had several opportunities in the first half to take the lead but were unable to get a shot past Jurg who made four saves. At the half, it was a tight game as the Wildcats claimed a 12-4 shot advantage.

The 'Cats posted three shots in the second stanza. In the 48^th, minute Ledwith ripped a shot but it was high of the net. Minutes later, sophomore Morgan Smith (Canton, Conn.) had a chance to give UNH a lead but Jurg was in position to make the save.

The Hawks picked up the pace throughout the second half, generating 11 shots in the period, but were only able to place a pair of shots on net Borkan made three saves in the second half.

Hartford's Channel Johnson took a shot just as the horn went off to close out regulation, putting the game into overtime as it was blocked in front of the goal.

In overtime, the two teams combined for five shots, the Hawks held the edge (3-2). UNH had two chances to put the game away. Senior Caroline Murray (New Canaan, Conn.) blasted a shot from the 18-yard box in the 92^nd minute as it struck the crossbar. Five minutes later, the Hawks put the game-winning goal on the board to pushing their winning streak to four games.

The Wildcats are back in action Sunday, Oct. 19 (2 p.m.) as the team travels to New York to take on Binghamton University in conference play.
