Pickard, Shattles Earn America East Weekly Awards

Pickard took home Tiger Classic MVP while Shattles averaged 10.71 assists/set.
BOSTON — University of New Hampshire junior libero Hady Pickard (Roswell, Ga.) was named America East Defensive Player of the Week, and junior libero Jessica Shattles (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) was named America East Setter of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday (Sept. 22).
Pickard was instrumental to the Wildcats' success on defense, notching 16 digs in the team's four-set victory over Furman before posting a team-leading 21 digs in the win over Clemson, totaling 37 digs (5.29/set). Additionally, Pickard contributed two service aces and 11 assists, culminating in MVP honors at the Tiger Classic.
Shattles had a career weekend, earning 45 assists in the win over Furman, including her 2,000th-career helper, before notching another 30 in the sweep over Clemson, totaling 75 assists (10.71/set). Alongside her assists, Shattles concluded the day with six kills, a service ace, 25 digs (3.57/set), and a block assist, earning a spot on the Tiger Classic All-Tournament Team.
