EASTON, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field finished the New England Championships in ninth place on Saturday, scoring 35 points. The event was held at Stonehill College.
Senior Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine) took seventh place in the 110 meter hurdles. The Maine native blazed his way to a time of 15.03. John Prizzi (Wycoff, N.J.) finished with a silver medal performance in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, crossing the line with a time of 8:59.99.
The 4x800 relay team consisting of Eric Stys (Stittville, N.Y.), David Gervais (Nashua, N.H.), Zachary Chabot (Manchester, N.H.) and Luke Miller (Birdsboro, Pa.) finished the event in sixth place, recording three points for the Wildcats. The team collectively recorded a time of 7:40.44.
Matthew Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) leapt to a seventh place finish in the high jump as he cleared a distance of 1.95 meters. Hoddwells continued his success with a gold medal performance in the triple jump, gaining 10 points after leaping to a mark of 14.83 meters.
