Abbi Maier Named America East Women’s Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year

Maier is the second student-athlete in women's soccer program history to win this honor
BOSTON – University of New Hampshire senior midfielder Abbi Maier (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named the 2025 America East Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year. Maier was stellar on the field as she was named the 2025 America East Co-Midfielder of the Year and has had an exemplary career in the classroom with a 3.98 GPA as a Health Sciences major.
This is the second time in program history a women's soccer student-athlete has won this award as Mia Neas won in 2017.
Maier will now be under consideration for the 2025-26 America East Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Maier has earned numerous academic accolades recently including 2025 United Soccer Coaches Division I Scholar All-East Region Team and she was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for the third straight season. She was also selected to the 2025 America East All-Academic Team. She is a three-time America East Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient (2022, 2023 & 2024).
Maier was also outstanding on the field in 2025 as she was selected to the United Soccer Coaches Division I All-Atlantic Region Third Team, to the All-ECAC Second Team and the All-New England Second Team. She was selected to play in the 2025 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl. Maier was the 2025 America East Co-Midfielder of the Year and was named to the America East All-Conference First Team. She led the team with a career-best six goals and 14 points as she also added two assists. Maier tied for fifth in the conference in goals and tied for sixth in points.
As a freshman in 2022, Maier was selected to the America East All-Rookie Team. She posted 17 goals and seven assists for 41 career points. Her 17 goals are 10th all-time at UNH.
