CLEMSON, S.C. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated by Clemson University, 88-38, in Monday night's season opener at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Junior guards Comeh Emuobor (Raleigh, N.C.) and KiJan Robinson (Apopka, Fla.) led UNH's offense with 11 and nine points, respectively. Robinson also had a team-high three assists. Freshman forward Giannos Xanthopoulos (Zografou, Greece) netted eight points in 15 minutes.

Junior forward Belal El Shakery (Alexandria, Egypt) pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and sophomore forwardJohn Squire (Sausalito, Calif.) had six.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Dillon Hunter scored the first points of the game on a 3-pointer at 19:07 as Clemson led wire-to-wire.
Robinson scored UNH's first points of the season on a layup at 17:24 to lift the Wildcats within 5-2.
Ace Buckner's layup gave the Tigers a double-digit lead, 12-2, at 14:21.

The margin expanded to 20 points, 34-14, at 3:21.

UNH NOTEBOOK

Emuobor, in his first game as a Wildcat, was an efficient 4-for-9 shooting from the floor, including 2 of 4 on 3-pointers, to score 11 points in 17 minutes.
Xanthopoulos was 3-for-4 from the floor and made 2 of 3 free throws.
