Reed Named to Phil Steele Midseason All-America Fourth Team

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore kicker Nick Reed (Harrison, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire football team has been named to the Phil Steele FCS Midseason All-America Fourth Team.
Reed, who is the FCS leader in field goals per game (2.00), has been honored as CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week twice this season – Sept. 8 and Oct. 20.
He has made 16 of 21 field goal attempts and is 15-for-16 on PAT kicks this season. Reed has been accurate from long distance has he is a perfect 3-for-3 on attempts from 40-49 yards and has made 4 of 5 from 50+ yards. He is also 7 of 8 from 30-39 yards.
Reed made the first six field goal attempts of his UNH Wildcat career. He made field goals of 33, 30 and 50 yards before kicking the game-winning 40-yard field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter to lift the Wildcats to a 19-16 victory against Holy Cross on Sept. 6.
He kicked a career-long 52-yard field goal at Ball State on Sept. 13 and connected again from that distance one week later at Dartmouth.
Reed kicked field goals of 36 and 50 yards in the second quarter and then made a 37-yarder to give UNH a 9-3 lead in the third quarter at Campbell on Oct. 18.
