Women's Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

Wildcats open nine-game home slate versus Holy Cross on Sunday, Aug. 18 (2 p.m.)
DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire women's soccer 11th-year head coach Steve Welham announced the team's 2024 schedule, with a Sunday, Aug. 18 game versus Holy Cross (2 p.m., Wildcat Stadium) launching a nine-game home docket and tough road matchups against Power-5 stalwarts Louisville (Thursday, Aug. 22, 7:30 p.m.) and UConn (Sunday, Aug. 25, 2 p.m.) highlighting the non-conference competition.
"We are very much looking forward to our 2024 season," Welham said. "We have a very balanced schedule with some top teams including ACC foe Louisville and one of the top Big East Conference opponents in UConn. We are excited to see each other again soon as well as making our preseason preparations for the season itself."
The Wildcats, who have advanced to the America East Championship in two of the past three seasons, open conference play with a home matchup against Vermont on Sunday, Sept. 22 (2 p.m.). UNH also plays host to UAlbany (Thursday, Oct. 3, 6 p.m.), Bryant (Sunday, Oct. 20, 2 p.m.) and defending AE champion Maine in the home finale Thursday, Oct. 31 at 6 p.m.
"Our incoming freshmen and transfers bring an outstanding blend of talent in all areas of the field, and we feel they will mesh very well with our already talented core group of players," Welham added. "This schedule will enable us to become more cohesive as a unit in non-conference play and to succeed in taking on the challenges of the America East Conference."
The America East tournament begins Sunday, Nov. 3, with the semifinals scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7, and the championship game set for Sunday, Nov. 10.

About UNH Women's Soccer
The 2023 Wildcats reached the America East playoffs for the 10th consecutive season and finished the regular season on a seven-game unbeaten streak from Sept. 24-Oct. 27, which tied the second-longest mark in program history. The 'Cats registered the fewest goals conceded (13) and tied the mark for the most all-time shutouts (nine) in program history. The team's cumulative GPA for the Fall 2023 semester was a 3.41 and it was a 3.46 in the spring. The program's 992 multi-year NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR), released in June, surpassed the national average (989) for Division I women's soccer programs. The APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.
