Daniels, Woodyard Lead Wildcats to Quarterfinal Victory over Binghamton, 77-64

Wildcats advance to America East semifinals.
DURHAM, NH. – Senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and junior forward Trey Woodyard (London, Ohio) combined for 37 points as the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team took down Binghamton, 77-64 in America East quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon from Lundholm Gymnasium.
Daniels scored 20 points and recorded 14 rebounds, a career high, for his team leading 13th double double of the season. Woodyard scored 17 points and added one block to the score sheet.
The Wildcats' record improves to 16-14 (8-9 AE) and Binghamton falls to 15-15 (7-10 AE).

- The Wildcats advance to the semifinal round of the America East Playoffs. They will take on the Catamounts on March 12th in Vermont. Tipoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
FIRST HALF:
- The Wildcats came out shooting in the first four minutes. Grad student forward Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.), junior guard Ahmad Robinson (West Orange, N.J.) and Woodyard all hit from deep to tie the game 9-9 going into the first timeout.
- In the first nine minutes of the half, the Wildcats took the lead by five with a score of 19-14.
- With 8:40 left in the first half, sophomore guard Rex Sunderland (Kaysville, Utah) poked the ball free for the steal and finished the one-man fast break with a layup to push the 'Cats lead to six.
- The next five minutes of the first half was back and forth. Daniels scored six points keeping the UNH six-point lead with a score of 31-25 with 3:05 left on the clock.
- In the final four minutes, Binghamton went on an 11-1 run to take a two-point lead, 34-32, going into halftime.
SECOND HALF:
- Both teams came out hot to start the second half. Robinson assisted grad student guard Naim Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa.) on a corner three to give the 'Cats a 41-38 lead with 15:01 left in the game.
- The Wildcats outscored the Bearcats 17-10 in the first 9:15 of the second half and held a five-point lead with 10:45 on the clock.
- With 2:45 left, Robinson stole the ball from a Binghamton guard and was sent to the foul line. He made both free throws extending the lead 67-59.
- Baker knocked down a pivotal three pointer from deep giving the 'Cats a 70-59 lead with 1:46 remaining, forcing a Binghamton time out.
- The Wildcats were able to dribble out the final 36 seconds of the game, securing the 77-64 victory, advancing the 'Cats to the Semifinals.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Daniels led the Wildcats with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 3 steals.
- Five Wildcats scored double digit points. Daniels (20), Woodyard (17), Robinson (12), Miller (11), Baker (10).
- UNH out rebounded Binghamton 30-27 and was efficient from the charity stripe, shooting 19-21 on free throws.
