Wildcats Season Concludes with Loss in Semifinal at Vermont, 66-59

BURLINGTON, V.T. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team fell to Vermont, 66-59 in the America East Semifinal on Tuesday evening from Patrick Gym.
Grad student forward Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored 21 points for the Wildcats and collected 11 rebounds for a double double. Senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) added 14 points and recorded 12 rebounds for the 'Cats. Junior guard Ahmad Robinson (West Orange, N.J.) dropped 16.
The Wildcats end the season 16-15 (7-9 AE) and Vermont improves to 27-6 (15-1 AE).

FIRST HALF:
· The Wildcats opened scoring with three points and held the Catamounts for 4:18 before they tied the game with a three pointer. UVM continued the scoring and went on an 11-0 run to take an 11-3 lead with 13:29 remaining.
· At the second media timeout, the Catamounts added six points, extending their lead to 12 with 11:40 left.
· UNH went on their own 11-3 run to bring the deficit to six, 22-16 with 6:41 to go.
· In the final three minutes, the Wildcats outscored the Catamounts 6-2. UVM went into halftime with a 31-24 lead.
SECOND HALF:
· The Catamounts started the half with nine unanswered points over 1:06, taking a 40-24 lead. UVM then extended the lead to 47-30.
· A steal and layup by Robinson lead to some UNH momentum that brought the deficit to 48-41 with 9:17 remaining in the game.
· Vermont reclaimed a 60-49 lead but five points from Baker and a three from sophomore guard Rex Sunderland (Kaysville, Utah) in the matter of a minute brought the 'Cats within four, 61-57 with 57 seconds left.
· Vermont prevailed with a 66-59 victory over the Wildcats.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
· This was the Wildcats' second consecutive trip to the America East Semifinal game.
· Daniels recorded his team leading 14th double double of the season.
· Daniels and Robinson were 100% from the charity stripe.
