DURHAM, N.H. – Graduate student forward Matthew Goncalves (Everett, Mass.) scored the lone goal for the Wildcats as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team tied Northeastern, 1-1, on Tuesday night at Wildcat Stadium in non-conference action.
With the tie, the Wildcats are now 2-2-4, while the Huskies are 1-4-6.

· The 'Cats return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Bryant at noon on ESPN+. The next home game is on Saturday, Oct. 12 versus Binghamton at 6 p.m. on Alumni Night.

· The Wildcats took the first shot on goal of the game in the fourth minute (3:53) when Goncalves sent a low shot from 10 yards out which was saved by Colby Hegarty.
· Northeastern took a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute (39:22) when Ethan Kang fired a free kick which was volleyed into the net by Kade Tepe from 10 yards out.
· The Wildcats almost tied the game in the 55th minute (54:22) when sophomore Austin Bush (Southampton, Mass) blasted a shot to the lower left corner of the net, but it was saved by a Northeastern defender.
· Then, in the 80th minute (79:27), senior Michael Tsicoulias (Newton, Mass.) took a corner kick for UNH, sending it in right through the middle but no one was able to get a touch on it.
· UNH tied up the game in the 84th minute (83:49) with a goal by Goncalves as he knocked the ball to the back of the net from eight yards out. Junior back Jaehyuk Moon (Paju-si, Korea) and graduate student midfielder Matteo Brossel (Toulon, France) were each credited with an assist.

· UNH outshot Northeastern, 15-9, while the Wildcats took seven shots on goal and the Huskies had five.
· UNH and Northeastern each took three corners.
· Senior goalkeeper Erik Lauta (Aptos, Calif.) made four saves for UNH, while Hegarty posted five saves for the Huskies.

· Goncalves leads the team with four goals.
