Brosmer Named an NFF Campbell Trophy Semifinalist

IRVING, Texas – Max Brosmer (Roswell, Ga.), a junior quarterback and captain on the No. 14/17 University of New Hampshire football team, was named a semifinalist for the 2023 William V. Campbell Trophy by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
Brosmer is 1 of 39 FCS semifinalists, including four other CAA honorees, among the record total of 201 total semifinalists, which also encompasses FBS, Division II, Division III and the NAIA.
Celebrating its 34th year, the Campbell Trophy® recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.

Through four games, Brosmer has completed 96 of 157 passes (61.1%) for 1,233 yards and 12 touchdowns for a QB efficiency rating of 151.1. He is the national leader in passing yards and also ranks second in passing yards per game (308.2), passing TDs and points responsible for (78).
Brosmer is #3 in both total offense (320 yards/game) and points responsible for per game (19.5), as well as #7 in completions per game (24.0) and 19th in passing efficiency.
Here is Brosmer's breakdown: national leader in one stat; Top 10 in seven stats; and Top 20 in eight stats.
Brosmer passed for a career-high 493 yards and four touchdowns Sept. 9 at Central Michigan University. In that game, Brosmer threw his 50th career TD. He set career highs with 34 completions and 58 attempts at nationally-ranked University of Delaware on Sept. 23. He went 34-for-58 for 392 yards, two touchdowns and no turnovers.
Brosmer threw a career-high five touchdowns with a season-high 237.4 rating in the opener at Stonehill.
Brosmer had a season-long 31-yard run for a touchdown Sept. 16 against Dartmouth, and he had a 24-yard run at Delaware as he led the team with 28 rushing yards on five carries (including one sack).
Brosmer, who graduated with a 3.87 cumulative GPA and degree in Biomedical Science: Medical and Veterinary Sciences and has a 4.0 GPA in pursuit of a Master's in exercise science, was named the 2022 CAA Football co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He was also selected to both the FCS Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team and CSC Academic All-District Team last season.
The NFF will announce 12-14 finalists Oct. 25, and each will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2023 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class Presented by Fidelity Investments
The finalists will travel to the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for the 65th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 5, where their accomplishments will be highlighted. Live during the event, one member of the class will be declared as the winner of the 34th Campbell Trophy® and have his postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.
Nominated by their schools, which are limited to one nominee each, candidates for the award must: be a senior or graduate student in their final year of playing eligibility; have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale; have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor; and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship.
The class is selected each year by the NFF Awards Committee, which is comprised of a nationally recognized group of media, College Football Hall of Famers and athletics administrators.
