DURHAM, N.H. – The No. 3 seed University of New Hampshire women's soccer team concluded their season in the America East Quarterfinals on Monday night against No. 6 seed Vermont as the Wildcats were defeated 2-1 at Wildcat Stadium.

Red shirt sophomore goalkeeper Sally Rainey (West Lebanon, N.H.) made eight saves for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats conclude their season at 6-5-5 (3-1-4, AE) while Vermont improves to 10-6-1 (3-4-1, AE). The Catamounts advance to the America East Quarterfinals to play No. 2 seed Maine on Thursday, Nov. 2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Jill Brody gave the Catamounts a 1-0 lead in the 55^th minute (54:30). Alyssa Oviedo notched an assist on the goal.
Tessa Weiss passed the ball to Lauren DeGroot in the box to allow her to score a goal for the Catamounts in the 75^th minute (74:56), extending the Vermont lead to 2-0.
Junior midfielder Meghan Guarente (Sewell, N.J.) sent a corner kick into the box that landed directly in front of senior forward Megan Logue (Oak Hills, Calif.). Logue headed the ball to the back of the net in the 89^th minute (88:27) cutting Vermont's lead in half.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

The Catamounts outshot the Wildcats, 20-18, while UNH took seven shots on goal and Vermont had 10.
Erin Murphy of Vermont had six saves while Rainey had eight.
