Wildcats Secure Third Place Finish at America East Championships (Oct. 27)

ORONO, Maine. -- The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team earned a third-place finish at the America East Cross Country Championship hosted by UMaine on Friday morning at Penobscot Valley Country Club.
UNH earned a total of 97 points in the 8k race.

- The Wildcats will return to action at the NCAA Regional Meet in Bronx, N.Y., on Friday, Nov. 10.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) was UNH's top finisher with a time of 25:14.06, which placed 13th among 82 total runners. This finish earned Shea All-Conference Second Team honors.
- Graduate Student William Curran (Old Saybrook, Conn.) finished in 15th place with a time of 25:22.38.
- Junior Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine) finished in 21st place with a time of 25:35.81.
- Junior Peyton Ramsey (Plainville, Conn) finished in 23rd place with a time of 25:39.68
- Graduate Student Aidan O'Hern (Concord, N.H.) finished in 26th place with a time of 25:47.09.
HISTORY:
- Last season, the 'Cats placed fourth in the America East Championships. The Wildcats have won eight America East championships (1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2008). The eight titles are the most by any current America East team and second-most all-time.
- A Wildcat has won the individual championship four times: John Prizzi (2013), Anthony Truax (2004), Matthew Schadow (1999) and Kevin Horgan (1998)
