DURHAM, N.H. – Tasmin Cookman (Woking, England), who signed a National Letter of Intent in January to join the University of New Hampshire field hockey program for the upcoming fall season, was named to the GB Women's Elite Development Programme (EDP) for 2022 by England Hockey on Tuesday.
A total of 24 players were selected, including a number of English athletes who have represented the country at U16 and U18 level.
Cookman has played for both the U16 and U18 England teams and captained the U18 team against the Ireland National League. The 5-2 forward was a member of the U13 national championship and U14 national championship teams, as well as the U16 indoor finalist team.
Cookman attends St. Teresa's Effingham and plays for the Surbiton Hockey Club team.
First formed in 2017, the GB EDP was designed to give those identified as having the potential to perform on the world's best level an environment in which they could develop the skills, physicality and character required to become a medal-winning Olympian.
