- UNH's defense forced the Phoenix to a 3-and-out on the game's opening possession and then the UNH offense needed just three plays to take a 7-0 lead at 12:03.
- A pair of shot completions set up 3rd-and-1 on the Elon 42, and then Brosmer ran around the left end and raced into the endzone. Redshirt freshman Nick Mazzie (Boxford, Mass.) made the PAT kick.
- UNH led by that seven-point margin through 15 minutes.
- With Elon backed up at its 4-yard line, Laube's 43-yard punt return gave the Wildcats 1st-and-10 at the Elon 15.
- Two plays later, UNH's offensive line provided Brosmer with an excellent pocket and Coyne snared the pass in the middle of the end zone for a 14-yard touchdown and Mazzie's PAT gave the Wildcats a 14-0 lead at 14:00.
- The Phoenix had a quick reply as McKay connected with Bryson Daughtry downfield for a 50-yard scoring play that trimmed the deficit to 14-7 at 12:13.
- The 'Cats responded with a 10-play, 71-yard drive capped by a 24-yard quarterback draw up by middle by freshman Barry Kleinpeter (Savannah, Ga.). Mazzie's PAT pushed the score to 21-7 at 7:33.
- A 36-yard punt by sophomore Sean Lehane (Milford, Mass.) pinned the visitors at the Elon 4. On 3rd-and-9, sophomore defensive ends Josiah Silver (Hampton, Va.) and Dylan Ruiz (Kissimmee, Fla.) pressured McKay to throw the ball away from the pocket, which resulted in an intentional grounding penalty and safety for the Wildcats to give UNH a 23-7 lead at 2:35.
- After forcing the 'Cats to punt on the opening possession of the second half, Elon quickly advanced the ball downfield with three completions of more than 15 yards, then scored on a 23-yard pass from McKay to Chandler Brayboy. On the 2-point conversion, McKay executed a QB draw up the middle to make it a one possession game, 23-15, at 8:44.
- On UNH's next drive, the Wildcats faced 3rd-and-14 at the Elon 25. Brosmer hit grad student Heron Maurisseau (Bellport, N.Y.) on a hook route at the Elon 20. Maurisseau split a pair of defenders at the 15, shed off a tackler at the 10 and sped into the end zone to extend the advantage to 30-15 at 5:13.
- Junior safety Joe Eichman (Merrimack, N.H.) had a 33-yard interception return to give New Hampshire first down at the Elon 30 with 53 seconds left in the third quarter.
- Following that Eichman takeaway, UNH's drive stalled at the Elon 3 and Mazzie kicked a 20-yard field goal to give the Wildcats a 33-15 lead at 11:36.
- On the next play from scrimmage, McKay connected with Bonner for a 55-yard gain to give the Phoenix 1st-and-10 at the UNH 20. On 4th-and-goal at the UNH 7, McKay's lob pass to the left sideline was broken up by sophomore safety Noah Palm (Lancaster, Pa.).
- Laube carried the ball three times for 16 yards, then gained the right corner and won the footrace to the end zone – Maurisseau provided a screen on the last defender at the Elon 10 – for a 77-yard TD run that pushed the margin to 40-15 at 6:28.
- Elon backup QB Justin Allen led the Phoenix on a 7-play, 75-yard touchdown drive capped by Malik Griffin's four-yard touchdown run at 3:44.
- New Hampshire converted 4th-and-1 at the Elon 43 on a five-yard run up the gut by sophomore Isaac Seide (Everett, Mass.) to keep possession and run out the remainder of the game with a pair of kneel downs.
- UNH amassed a season-high 465 total yards of offense with 240 rushing yards and 220 passing yards.
- Elon had 145 rushing yards and 250 passing yards for a total of 395.

- Laube has seven rushing TDs and nine total touchdowns this season.
- Eichman has an interception all three games since returning to action Oct. 8 vs. Stony Brook University; he also had an INT last week at Dartmouth College.
- Maurisseau is now tied for the team lead with three TD receptions this season.
- In his collegiate debut, Kleinpeter rushed three times for 23 yards, including the 24-yard score.
- With the assistance of excellent downfield coverage, four of Lehane's five punts were downed inside the Elon 10 – twice at the 1-yard line, another at the 4 and one at the 7.
- The previous time UNH recorded a safety was Sept. 27, 2014 vs. Dartmouth.
- This is the fourth time this season that UNH scored first and held the lead the rest of the way (at UAlbany, at Towson, at Dartmouth, Elon).
- UNH's offense had three drives of 10+ plays and three drives of 70+ yards.
