KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seniors Cam Droste (Lone Tree, Colo.), Casey Peterson (Round Hill, Va.) and Francesca Picicci (North Massapequa, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team were named College Player Award of Distinction recipients by United Soccer Coaches.
Players are selected on one or more of the following criteria: achieved quality performance on the field; represented the highest ideals of team leadership; exhibited quality character attributes including sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the game in general; and made other significant contributions to the benefit of the program and the community.
Droste did not see any match action as a reserve goalkeeper in the Spring 2021 season; her selection was rooted in the other three aforementioned.

Picicci was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team and All-Academic Team as she led the Wildcats in points (eight) and tied for the team lead in both goals (three) and assists (two). The captain also led the squad in both shots (15) and shots on goal (10) and was named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar East Region Second Team.
On the America East leaderboard, Picicci was No. 4 in points per game (1.14), tied for third in assists, and tied for fourth in goals. She scored a goal three consecutive games, the last of which was a golden goal to defeat the University of Maine.
New Hampshire – led by head coach Steve Welham, associate head coach Amanda Bowes and assistant coach Stuart Horne – went 5-2-0 overall and earned a berth in the America East semifinals (but had to opt out because of COVID protocols).
UNH recorded the first 4-0-0 start in program history and had a perfect home record with five wins in five games at Wildcat Stadium.
