Wildcats earn third straight win with 67-45 victory against Central Connecticut State on Saturday

Blondeau Tchoukuiegno notches a game-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting
DURHAM, N.H. -- Sophomore guard Blondeau Tchoukuiegno (Montreal, Quebec) notched a career-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team to a 67-45 home victory against Central Connecticut State on Saturday afternoon at Lundholm Gym.
The Wildcats win their third consecutive game to improve to 4-2 overall on the season, while the Blue Devils fall to a 2-7 mark.
Senior forward Jayden Martinez (Cibolo, Texas) added 14 points and 12 rebounds for his 17th career double double. Sophomore guard Nick Johnson (Bronx, N.Y.) chipped in with 13 points and six boards, while senior Tayler Mattos (New London, N.H.) recorded 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting with seven rebounds.
The Wildcats went on a 20-8 run in the final 6:36 of the first half to keep a lead they would not relinquish.
Nigel Scantelbury amassed a team-high 15 points with five rebounds and four assists. in the losing effort for the Blue Devils.
The 'Cats shot 48% in the first half and 35% in the second stanza, finishing the game shooting 41% against CCSU. UNH won the battle of the boards, by a decided 48-26 margin.
UNH returns to the court on Wednesday, December 8 at Bryant. Game time from the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, R.I. is 7:30 p.m.
