STORYLINES
UNH takes a 1-1 record into Sunday's matchup at Quinnipiac. This will be the Wildcats' first road game of the season; the 'Cats had a 5-12 road record last season.
UNH has a 2-3 lifetime record against Quinnipiac University. The Bobcats have won each of the past two meetings, including 75-67 at home last December (12/7/19). That eight point margin of victory is the largest in the series, which dates back to a season-opening tournament at Columbia University in November 2005.
Junior forward Nick Guadarrama has two double-doubles in two games (and nine in his career). Guadarrama recorded 16 points and a game-high 15 rebounds this past Tuesday vs. Bryant. He finished with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds in the opener vs. Keene State.
Redshirt freshman guard Blondeau Tchoukuiengo was named America East Rookie of the Week this past Monday. He recorded career highs in points (18), rebounds (five), assists (four) and steals (four) in the season opener vs. Keene State on Nov. 25.
Guadarrama was the only frontcourt player selected to the five-member America East Preseason All-Conference Team.
UNH was selected third in this year's conference preseason coaches' poll.
New Hampshire is one of seven men's teams in Division I to return 85% or more of the team's points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
UNH was one of the most improved teams in the nation spanning the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons. With an improvement of 10 wins, the Wildcats were one of six programs that increased the win total by double digits.
